Breton (Bret) is a highly experienced property and planning professional with over 34 years of experience in the property industry, having commenced his career in town planning in the United Kingdom. His strong technical foundation in statutory planning, combined with international experience, has underpinned a distinguished career across property advisory and development-related roles in Australia. Bret has held senior leadership roles in urban planning, development facilitation, and strategic planning advisory. He spent 19 years at Urbis, including 9 years as an owner of the firm where he led an urban planning team of more than 80 professionals. In this role, he oversaw development facilitation, coordinated multidisciplinary project teams, and guided complex urban development projects through all stages of the planning and delivery lifecycle. In addition to his professional practice, Bret served as a Division Councillor with the Property Council of Australia, contributing to industry policy discussions and providing strategic input on planning frameworks, development feasibility, and urban growth matters. Bret continues to sit on the Planning and Building Committee. Bret serves as an Investment Committee Member of Orens Capital, bringing deep planning, regulatory, and delivery expertise to the investment decision-making process. His extensive experience in navigating approvals pathways, managing planning risk, and engaging with key stakeholders enhances the Committee’s ability to assess development feasibility, identify execution risks at an early stage, and support disciplined, risk-adjusted investment outcomes with a strong focus on capital protection.
Hugh Lu
Investment Committee Member
Hugh is the Chief Executive Officer of SIG Group and a seasoned property development professional with over 15 years of experience specialising in large-scale land subdivision and master-planned community development. Throughout his career, Hugh has successfully led the planning, delivery, and execution of more than six major residential communities, working across the full development lifecycle from site acquisition and planning approvals through to civil delivery, staging, and end-market execution. He is currently overseeing the development of five large-scale communities, maintaining hands-on involvement in project strategy, risk management, and delivery outcomes. As CEO of SIG, Hugh has been instrumental in building the group’s development platform, establishing robust governance frameworks, and aligning development execution with capital and investor objectives. His deep understanding of planning risk, construction sequencing, market absorption, and cost control has been critical in delivering projects with disciplined risk-adjusted returns. Hugh serves as an Investment Committee Member for Orens Capital, where he contributes extensive on-the-ground development expertise to investment decision-making. His practical experience in land development allows the Investment Committee to assess opportunities with greater precision, identify execution risks early, and structure investments with a strong focus on capital protection and downside management. With a career grounded in real-world development delivery rather than theory alone, Hugh brings a pragmatic, execution-focused perspective that enhances the accuracy, resilience, and overall safety of the investment strategies under Orens Capital’s management.

Jimmy brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in property development and investment across China and Australia. Over the course of his career, he has held senior roles spanning property research, acquisitions, development, and structured finance, with a particular focus on large-scale land subdivision and residential projects. He successfully established and led Dahua Melbourne, where he was responsible for building and managing its development pipeline. As a founding member of SIG Group, Jimmy played a pivotal role in originating, structuring, and expanding the group’s project portfolio, contributing to the platform’s long-term growth and institutional capabilities. Across his career, he has led and executed land acquisitions exceeding 2,000 hectares. In 2023, Jimmy founded Orens Capital, with a clear mission to translate his decades of hands-on development and investment experience into professionally managed fund structures. Through Orens Capital, he aims to provide broader access to Australian real estate investment opportunities, enabling small and mid-sized investors to participate in high-quality property strategies that were traditionally available only to large institutions. Ms Jan Morrison is a highly experienced financial services practitioner with a career spanning four decades across financial planning, funds management, and regulated investment structures in Australia. Jan commenced her career in 1984 as the founder of the Western Australian division of a national financial planning group, establishing a strong foundation in client advisory services and financial governance. She subsequently transitioned into funds management, where she has held senior leadership roles for many years. Throughout her career, Jan has served in a range of governance and oversight positions, including Director, Compliance Committee Chair and Member, Investment Committee Member, and Risk and Compliance Committee Member across multiple national funds management businesses. Her experience reflects a deep understanding of governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and risk oversight within the Australian financial services environment. Since 2008, Jan has acted as a Responsible Manager across both retail and wholesale managed investment schemes, providing ongoing oversight of AFSL compliance, regulatory risk, and internal control frameworks. Her extensive Responsible Manager experience enables a disciplined approach to compliance monitoring, risk management, and investor protection. As a member of the Orens Capital’s Risk and Compliance Committee, Jan contributes significant regulatory expertise and governance experience, strengthening Orens’ compliance framework and supporting prudent, well-controlled investment operations.
Huey Chew

Huey is a highly experienced compliance and advisory professional with deep expertise across corporate advisory, accounting, taxation, and AFSL compliance. She brings extensive experience advising funds and regulated entities within Australia’s financial services framework, with a strong focus on governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. As a Director of Maju Advisory, Huey works closely with fund managers and entities operating under AFSL structures, providing ongoing compliance advisory and regulatory support. Her experience includes serving as a Director and Responsible Manager, where she has held key roles on multiple Compliance Committees and overseen trustee and compliance functions for a range of wholesale managed investment schemes, including diversified property funds and social infrastructure funds. Huey has acted as a Responsible Manager overseeing compliance obligations across various wholesale managed schemes, ensuring adherence to AFSL conditions, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks. Her hands-on experience in compliance oversight enables robust monitoring of regulatory risk, operational controls, and investor protection mechanisms. Earlier in her career, Huey trained at Ernst & Young and subsequently held roles at National Australia Bank Ltd and Alinta LGA Ltd, gaining strong technical grounding in tax advisory, private banking, and financial services operations. She is recognised for her ability to manage complex fund administration and compliance processes with precision, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and client engagement. Huey holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Science from Monash University and is a Chartered Accountant in Australia and New Zealand. Jeff Feng is a senior finance and capital markets professional with extensive experience across fund structuring, capital solutions, and investment banking in both Australia and China. Having lived and worked in both markets, he brings strong cross-border insight and an in-depth understanding of institutional and investor dynamics. Jeff previously served in the Capital Solutions team at a specialist financial services firm, where he focused on fund structuring, business development, and stakeholder engagement for fund managers across alternative asset classes. His responsibilities included supporting fund establishment and transition processes, coordinating with trustee and compliance teams, and working closely with professional advisers and wholesale investors to deliver compliant and commercially robust fund solutions. Prior to this, Jeff spent over eight years as an Investment Banker at one of China’s largest listed securities firms, where he led and executed comprehensive due diligence, IPO preparation, prospectus drafting, and regulatory submissions. He advised on multiple IPOs, public listings, and capital raising transactions, working closely with auditors, legal advisers, valuers, and corporate management teams.
